About Me:
I lead a somewhat laidback existence where I currently juggle university studies and various part time jobs. If I manage to find any spare-time in between work and school I tend to do stuff like listening to copious amounts of music, exercise, drink beer and do a whole lot of observing and thinking. I'm also a bit of a cooking-nerd and is always on the lookout for the next tasty dish.
Why are you here?
Well, I stumbled on a link through one of the atheist-groups on facebook, got curious, liked it, registered, and decided to drop in on a irregular basis.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
Having been raised in one of the world's most secular countries in a family who's christian believes amounted pretty much to paying lip-service (i.e only attending funerals/weddings/baptisms/christmas mass and not speaking of faith at all) to the church, and being a generally skeptical kid from the start, resulted in me struggling to even see why I would have to be religious at all. Finally, I left the Swedish church officially in december 2007 without any fuzz from anyone (not even the church employees at their local office asked me why)

As I ended last post quoting Magnus Betnér's theory about American religiousness "I guess that's what happen when you don't have proper health care", I thought I should continue on that.

Maybe the reason Swedes don't care about religion is because we're paying so much taxes (I haven't find any official ranking but I've heard several statements that we are in the top-5 with our 40-ish %). Money that the government mainly wastes on less than ideal projects. So maybe that's why the… Continue

Faith and statistics

I've had a few blogs through the years, most have been very centered in a sort of self-censored "dear diary"-format and eventually faded out with my interest to maintain it. But I thought I might try something new and theme this to go with the community. So here's a shot at blogging about secularism/atheism/religion with Sweden in focus. Sure it might be some stuff that is related more to international events as well but that will just count as bonus-posts.…
