Haha, as both an English major and a perfectionist I am consequently also a chronic editor! I totally sympathize with you; feel free to amend anything that you feel warrants correction. I can't speak for the other mods, but I never mind re-approving an edited piece because I completely understand the desire to edit. :)

No need to apologize at all! I've seen people mention the problem with HTML and font color, but I'm pretty ignorant as to the exact mechanics of it so I just copied the blog to a comment so that people could read it. Personally, I can read the black font fine, but I know that some people cannot and I didn't want anyone to skip over your blog just because of that. :)

You have some interesting comments about reality and consciousness at the link you provided.

My take is that evolution has provided us with the sensory apparatus and brains best suited to surviving, as humans, in a world "red in tooth and claw". Our perceptions had to be accurate enough to avoid danger and stay alive long enough to procreate.

Although it would obviously be beneficial to be God-like in our perceptions and be able to see at microscopic and telescopic scales and in all wavelengths -- those abilities aren't necessary to live here in middle Earth.

What is the "true" nature of reality? I'm not sure how much that matters. To me, the main point is that our perception of reality is accurate enough to allow investigation and discovery and lives full of awesome wonder.

Thanks for commenting back about Atheism Advanced. I'm in the middle of chapter 4 and am reading it fairly slowly. So yeah, it would be great to dialogue with you about it. There's a lot of rich content in the book.
