I think that higher power(s) can be a good thing or sometimes a bad thing. When it comes to providing us with some security and safety it can be good. But, there are times when these higher power(s)…Continue

Part II -Religious (and other) Experiences and What Has Shaped Me to Be the Woman I Am Today

Ok, I left off at 22. That’s the first time I was baptized.  I am going to fill in some gaps briefly but won’t go into much detail. At around the age of 14, or so, I was boy crazy and took quite the like to partying. Many of my decisions were based on those two things. I believe for those two reasons, in particularly, I went though some pretty terrible experiences.  I basically blamed myself and alcohol for those things happening.  So, I am not going to go into a lot of detail about those events. I am going to discuss the things which shattered my belief system and way of viewing myself and the world around me.Let’s skip ahead to age 23. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business and then decided at 24, to pursue my Master’s degree in a similar field, which I had pretty much no interest in. I didn’t know what to do with my life. At the time, I thought I had a thing for cowboys and so I chose that major in hopes of meeting one-a keeper. Needless to say, trying to go to…See More

Why you left your religion.
I studied it in depth and then realized that it did not make sense to me. I feel that Christianity and many Christians condemn and are far too judgmental. It seems far too magical and not realistic. I believe there probably is a lot that we do not know but without seeing, it is difficult to believe. Values are important to have but we are all human and are bound to make our fair share of mistakes. Life is one big learning experience and I do not believe in absolutes. I am a non believer.

Some Things that Angered Me and Caused Me to Question/Trust People (How In The World! Is Lying Ok?)

-More so, than the rest (Easter bunny, tooth fairy….), I was tremendously upset when I found out from some kids at school that Santa Clause was not real – Why would my family lie to me about that? They put so much emphasis on being a sleep when he came at night, how the dolls and other toys would come to life on Christmas Eve and how I must make sure they were dressed.... no,…
