Chelle replied to Sassan K.'s discussion 'WHAT DID HITCH MEAN FOR YOU?'
"I gasped when I heard this news today. Very sad! His ability to be raw, real and honest added weight to his words that were filled with reason and worthiness.   He is an inspiration and his legacy lives on."

Chelle commented on Heather Henderson's blog post 'A CIRCUS! A discussion between people of different religions - The atheist goes balls out. I think she should have taken a different route.'
"Tehe haha isn't it funny, it seems the only one taking this whole concept seriously is the atheist. The theists laugh good naturedly at each other. Do they even believe there own claims because if they did they are really saying to each other,…"

Should we try to stop people being religious?

Should we be trying to stop people being religious? There seems to me to be a personal psychological payoff for people to be religious and it can help some communities come together in a positive way. So why stop religion? Why not fight for tolerance. Perhaps this is impossible and I am being naive, but I think it is equally impossible to stop a way of thinking that is so deeply ingrained that it is like a rushing river. And perhaps necessary for some people to cope. The majority of people are… Continue

I been to cities that never close down
From New York to Rio and Old London Town
But no matter how far or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home

I'm always travelling
I love being free
And so I keep leaving the sun and the sea
But my heart lies waiting over the foam
I still call Australia home

All the sons and daughters
Spinning around the world
Away from their family and friends
But as the world gets older and colder
Its good to know where your journey ends

Someday we'll all be together once more
When all of the ships come back to the shore
I realise something Ive always known
I still call Australia home

But no matter how far or wide I roam
I still call Australia
I still call Australia
I still call Australia home

But no matter how far or wide I roam
I still call Australia
I still call Australia
I still call Australia home

Oh you have been away from home. Not sure if you still call Australia home since you've been away so long.

Hi Chelle, I loved what you said in your "Should we try to stop people being religious?" blog post. Hope you don't mind that I posted it, as a discussion point on "Each to their own" or “I’m not interested, please leave me alone”.

I feel the same way about a child's upbringing as you do. I was raised in a freethinking household - my parents would have loved me regardless if I had believed in Santa until 20 or the FSM. I think it's the responsible way to raise a child, to let them think for themselves, and I'm glad there are more and more people like you out there doing just that.
