I'm a Geology MS student at LSU trying ever so hard to finish my thesis. Originally from East TN, I like going to pubs and talking about anything with friends. I have a unique and diverse taste in TV shows, movies, books, songs, you name it. I'm also currently trying to get in shape by exercising more, changing my diet/cooking, and learning to identify and change bad habits.
Why are you here?
I was brought up in a baptist family, but was always a little different and probably never had the same belief in religion as they do. Over the years I've become much more developed in my atheist beliefs and am always interested in looking at how things changed/developed through time. I see religion as more and more a fantasy that is hindering societies; developed when we were curious enough to ask questions, afraid of not knowing, but too ignorant to realize that just because we believe it doesn't make it so. But I do love talking about religion and people's different views/arguments/ideas. I'll take someone who says "I don't know and may never know, but I'd like to find out or hypothesize" over someone who says "This is the way it is because it's what I was told and ancestors were told so believe it or else" any day.
The religion you left
Christian, Was Never Apart of one
Why you left your religion.
None of it makes sense...and no that doesn't mean gods work in mysterious ways or that's faith. Just because we don't know something doesn't mean something supernatural is the answer.
