I have been an outspoken atheist for a few years now, and I've recently found out that my dads' brother, Ken and family are atheist as well.  This surprised me not only because my uncle once was on…Continue

"You're right, but what the film tries to explain is how most religions actually derive from astrology.  For instance, it points out that on Dec. 25th, the 3 kings of Orion's belt line up with the north star to point to the spot where…"

Zeitgeist, the part on astrology.

I know the film "Zeitgeist" is mostly full of conspiracy theory nonsense, but is the part about the astrology surrounding the birth and death of Jesus and all the other saviors/messiahs/miracle workers wrong as well?  It seems fairly sound to me, but I've never been able to find a definitive answer.See More

Your Religious Status
Atheist
About Me:
I've lived in southern Illinois all my life. Raised Catholic, became what I'd call Agnostic around age 17, then an Atheist around 27. I "came out" about a year ago, and have begun being more outspoken about atheism since then.

I am a bartender at a comedy club as well as an amateur comedian. I'm working on becoming a national headliner sometime in the future.
Age
31-35
Why are you here?
I feel that just being atheist isn't enough. I recognize the organized religions around the world are not a force for the good of humanity, and therefore, I have been trying to spread awareness to others about what atheism is, and why I am one.

Why you left your religion.
