Born into a loving, amazing family who were,and indeed still are strong Muslims. Naturally, there exists a certain tension ;)
Why are you here?
Simply to join a community of like minded individuals who share a similar outlook on life. Even in a secular democracy, even in a city like London, atheism can be a lonely path to follow..

Essentially, a combination of the various reasons given above, together with educating myself and researching the origins of the major religions. Final ingredient - a liberal sprinkling of Dawkins-infused wonder about evolution and the natural world.
