Went to Andrews, TX, to counter-protest the WBC, ended up getting run out of town.

So the Gay- Straight Alliance at the university around here organized a counter protest, because the WBC was going to protest the funeral of a soldier who had died in combat from there. We had a conglomeration of signs, one had FSM <3 gays on it, another had God hates figs, and so on. Mine had a quote about bigotry from Jefferson. We went there with the best of intentions. Lots of people had anti-wbc signs, and God bless America signs. The procession entered and suddenly a cop grabbed my… Continue

He exclaimed over how pretty it was, and she said something along the lines of "Everyone in my family is very religious. Well, except for her," and… Continue

I remember loving reading the stories and hearing of the testimonies of the people who were persecuted and killed for Christ and even wishing I was secure enough in my faith to do something like that. As a… Continue

Totally. I'm at UNM in Albuquerque so there's a bit more than usual around these parts, but the religious/spiritual community is insanely huge.
