- Learning slowly and painfully that Atheism is a dirty word. It was questioned in high school, cool in college, but apparently, now that I've grown up, I should "know better" or something. In my quest and thirst for knowledge, I have come across all types. I have my good days and my bad days. Days where I am sweet and kind and happy go lucky and days where I cry over spilled milk. What I have learned thus far, is that those who truly seek truth tend to be more loving than those who claim to know it. I am still seeking answers, asking questions and rocking the boat. I am and forever will be a skeptic.

- I am seeking like minded individuals who have stories to share, friendships to make and knowledge to gain. I want relationships with other people who have been ridiculed, preached at, condemned by others and have learned to laugh it off. I am seeking friendships to make up for the ones that I have lost. My hope is that I will find not only that, but that we will enjoy learning and even debating (no matter the topic) together.

- I stopped basing my beliefs on my emotions. I started realizing there were too many gaps in the bible and the things taught or preached at the church and I started studying it on my own. I poured over the bible for years, studied it, memorized great portions of it and prayed fervently for understanding. The more I read, the more I understood that the bible just doesn't make sense. It doesn't add up and I can not stand firm on a faith that falls so easily.

This is a phrase I have started seeing online more and more. People (in general and on both sides of the spectrum) are griping about the "new Atheists" and how they seem to be shoving their non-beliefs down other peoples throats.
I understand the problems that people may have with "In your face Atheism" as I like to call it, however, in this day and age I honestly thing the main goal of people who do this (myself included) is to inform others. It took me 10 years to "come…
