I am an Interior Designer living in Spokane, WA. It's a hard city to live in as an atheist, there is a church every other block. But, it's nice to be close to family, so here is where I'll be for a while. I'm married to Johnny. We've been married for over five years and try to defy traditional marriage by being equals in every way.
Why are you here?
Until recently I was a "closet atheist". I had some very bad experiences with pears as a teenager. I was basically pressured into going to church and was told I was going to hell and was a bad person. This is really the first time in my life I've talked about religion at all. I'm very excited to be around open minded people and have modern discussion of today's hot topics.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.

I first questioned Christianity as a teenager. I've never been a person to believe something because I was told. Religion had no logic behind it so it was very hard for me to understand. Although I grew up a Christian, as soon as I was old enough to think for myself I disbelieved. I tried for many years to be part of religion to be part of a greater whole: family, friends, etc. But I simply couldn't be part of something that was so obviously false.
Hi, I'm new to Think Atheist. I also live in Spokane, and I just graduated college with my A.A.S. Degree in Interior Design. I too feel it is hard to live in Spokane, it seems everyone I run into anymore is christian, and all they want to do is talk about how great the lord is. I would love to chat with you sometime. How long have you lived in Spokane?
