About Me:
I'm into world travel, music, and cooking. I'm a total absurdist. I don't believe in a god, an afterlife, or a soul. There is no inherent meaning in anything. We are all going to die, and everyone who has or will have an opinion of us will also die. What is more freeing than that?

I've been to college to study English, I'm currently mastering Mandarin Chinese, and then I'm going back to college again to learn something else. I want to live a simple life. Genuine happiness is all that matters to me.

I, Andrew, propose the perfect way to defeat this detestable economic situation that our most noble and glorious nation is enduring, and I am certain that other wealthy tycoons like myself will agree that it is indeed perfect.

As history shows, it is the wealthy in the world that make the important decisions and cause real change. It is us that lead nations to glory. The poor, working class citizenry do play an important part as well, but they certainly don’t have anywhere near the… Continue

Essay I wrote for philosophy class: Pascal's Wager and the Ontological Argument Defeated

Refutations of Pascal’s Wager

and the Ontological Argument

When debating a theist about the existence of God, there are two arguments that many of them tend to rely on as last ditch efforts. These are Pascal’s Wager and the Ontological Argument. However, neither is valid because they both have been refuted.

Pascal’s wager, devised by Blaise Pascal, states that it is better to believe in God and be wrong than to not believe in God and be wrong. If one believes in God… Continue

(Scientist pulls out baseball bat.)

Moderator: Hey, what are you doing?

(Scientist breaks Intelligent Design advocate's kneecap.)

Intelligent Design advocate: YEAAARRRRGGGHHHH! YOU BROKE MY KNEECAP!

Scientist: Perhaps it only appears that I broke your kneecap. Certainly, all the evidence points to the hypothesis I broke your kneecap. For example,… Continue

Six USA States Ban Atheists From Holding Office and Testifying as Witnesses in Court

Six states have passed a law banning atheists from holding any public office. The law also prevents atheists from testifying as witnesses in court. Here's a link to the article:

This is absolute bull shit.

Andrew, i was reading your Sniz outing post. I think that you should dive right into it with your family. Maybe my family is different because we talk, but one of my sisters got annoyed with my snide comments. She had a point in terms of courtesy. But it lead to a great 2 hour debate of four on one. Now it's no secret about how I feel, but the misconceptions were hilarious. One of my sisters was sure that I was a Scientologist because I was talking about science. My Dad is a believer but found the assertion that an infallible Genesis means that world isn't older than 6000 years incredulous. The point is that if you confidently and respectfully stand your ground, you'll expose your family to information that they've never thought of. Unless you feel like you are on the outside, you take this BS for granted. Ignorance is bliss only until you learn the truth. Go show them that it isn't a whim. That you have information they can't deal with. Say to them... take the word faith our of your vocabulary and answer my questions.
I think that the more of us that do this with those that we love, the more accepting they will be to strangers that feel the same. Just my two cents.

its not really fundies, its the.. ahem.. trying to be politically correct here.. the displeased minorities.. that make me think twice before turning into certain streets.

anyway, im glad to help :)

that sounds great, but be warned - the culture takes a lot to get used to. Plus, if youre hoping to escape the fundies, we have our own version here, so no luck there. The thing is, every culture has its ups ad downs - that isnt to say i wouldnt recommend it, but i wouldnt limit my travels to just europe. Europe is wonderful and I love it with all my heart, but you know, the grass is always greener.. :)
I'd say, if you love to travel, live in europe for some years, really take in all aspects of it, because it's rare to have this kind of culural diversity so condensed, but dont stay here, see the rest of the world too, because it will seriously enhance your life. and i know this sounds cheesy, but its kinda true :P

I'm having a love affair with Fallout 3 right now, but as soon as it's over I might give Planescape a try, especially if it's supposed to be akin to Baldur's Gate.
