This has been going on since I was at school here in the UK (about 8 years... hmm feel old saying that) and suffice to say I'm tired of it.
First they said the Muslims wanted it changed, none of the Muslims I knew gave a rats ass about it being called Christmas! Some celebrated the traditional side of the festivities even.
Now, it's just general political correctness with a side of "it's the atheists!" throw in after the bus campaigns this year.

I became a Christian just over a year ago now and although I had believe for most of my life before that (bar a few years as a "radical atheist"), I was never in the Christian community then and so I lacked knowledge of how to become a Christian and more specific knowledge about the faith.

For the Love of God

Being a thinking, critical, and questioning Christian is hard work. But intellectual arguments (mostly) aside, what about love. More specifically God's Love. God's ever present, unfailing, over-whelming, ya-can't-touch-this-even-if-you-were-MC-Hammer Love. How does one reach, recognise and feel that love?

what the members won't abide is when people join the forum in order to proselytize- that is, spout chapter and verse (from a book we don't agree is authoritative in the first place)- and offer up warm fuzzy platitudes that mean nothing to anyone not already convinced of their truth.
when someone does that they'll find patience around here running thin but even then it doesn't get hateful.
at any rate, from reading your early contributions to the community, i can't imagine anyone will have to worry about that from you.
