"I read your post a while back and have been thinking about it since. Your line "What bothers me most is that before I'm gone, I won't know all the things people will know in future years, centuries, and millennia." just makes so…"
"David, I cannot reply to your statements so I am replying to you here.
"Gay" is another terrible analogy, unless the word has been used historically to persecute gay people? In fact the word has been a very accepted noun through out gay…"
"No. This is a refusal to surrender my agency, to reduce my self to pedantic discourse and your sense of entitlement to coax a reply out of me. I don't owe you anything. And I do not feel responsible at all to educate you on topics you lack a…"
"loving your categorization of hate within a private and public space, and it's evolutionary need.
However, just a small comment. Why use the term Moderate Muslim? This is a term I have gotten very accustomed while watching to Fox news, which…"
"btw loving that you're calling me zombie :-D
I think all such words have to be understood within contexts and their associated histories. Words do not have inherent meanings and a quick look at websters dictionary is hardly going to educate one…"
"Jake, i just really don't want to have to explain this. There is a very dark history of the word and it's usage.
If the word oriental only just means east, why can't the word chinaman just mean from china? Do you know that the word…"
"Well for starters, Asia refers to a very particular geographical context. Orient does not. It does reference the people which were colonized though. It also communicates a sense of mystic and exotification, "from the orient", which is also…"
"yes, cause the most important thing on my mind when I am about to die is going to be grammar :) Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that the sentence is grammatically correct. It implies the absence of something in the future, it doesn't imply it…"
"A fictional character is just a fictional character. It doesn't exist. Being angry at something that doesn't exist just seems plain silly. There are characters that I do not like in GOT, understanding that they have absolutely no impact on…"
"not really, that doesn't sound very assuring if I am being honest. Kinda like a line out of a science experiment, "When the hydrogen and oxygen combine, they form water, and the separate oxygen no longer exists." I do understand what…"
"Very aptly put!
It is tantamount to understand the relationship between economics and climate change with war. Intersectionality is the way to the future ya'll!
However I would not say (and I am assuming you would agree with me) that only…"
Undead atheist here, but not to worry, I only eat theist brains...they're softer and squishier...just like veal.
I usually go by Muslim Atheist, because I still do feel an affinity towards all the cultural practices of Islam and some of the most important people in my life identify as muslims. Still in the closet regarding my atheism. Oh and I am gay as well, also been struggling with being vegetarian for a while.
And I am an artist.
Otherwise, just looking for people to connect with.
Why are you here?
I just need people to talk to. Still in the closet regarding my atheism. A little scared of being found out. But a small group of friends would be really appreciated.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
I studied it.
I sometimes hover between agnosticism and atheism. But I did eventually come to the conclusion that either if a god exists who is in any manner similar to ANY of the belief systems present, he is a very very cruel god. Or the god is in no way anything similar to what we believe in. Either ways, he doesn't exist. So I guess I am an atheist.
