I wonder how many pagans died during that time. Rounding up to millions could hide some truth.

Europe was overwhelmingly Christian during the age of the Black Death. I'm sure a few pagans were hanging on in secret but they're not exactly atheists either.

God was the perpetrator of the black death, according to theists. Medieval society looked to the Church for answers during the black death and never got any: people kept dying.

Deaths due to crisis mismanagement apparently count on this little list. If not, then most of Mao's tally needs to be erased. If so, then there's no reason to count famine but ignore disease.

Apparently 'old age' is not a scientifically recognised cause of death.  Consequently, god killed everybody who isn't alive today, and he is on target to kill the rest of us.  Better live it up whilst you still can!
