I, for one, welcome our new computer overlords.
Don't forget your towel!
Just like the other gods, man-made. Great answer from the Machine!
When I first heard the story it had several stages. Each stage after the first consisted of adding to the computer's capabilities, asking the question, and the computer's replying "Not enough capability."
After as many such stages as the audience can bear, the computer replies, "There is now."
Finally the Messiah has arrived.
Wasn't that a short story by Issak Asimov?
I think the story by Asimov is called the 9 billion names of God. It is about some monks in Tibet who get a super computer to help them write the 9 billion names of god. When they finish, the world ends. As the technicians who installed the computer are driving away, they notice that the stars are going out one by one.
Can the creation destroy it's creator?
Do creators create their own destruction?
