I really like Penn Jillette sense of logic and atheism despite his blunt language :)
Penn & Teller have always been a zealous advocate for the voice and rights of freethinkers. I love watching their talks at The Amazing Conference, and their articles in various publications including Skeptic magazine.
I was in Vegas a few years ago speaking at a conference. I brought two of my daughters with me because the conferece people were kind enough to put me up in a nice suite. I took the girls (one 17, one 15 at the time) to see Penn & Teller. I was so pleasantly surprised to see them after the show, in the lobby. They were talking to anyone who stayed afterward, signing autographs, and really having conversations with the audience members that stayed. Of course Teller talked - and he is a very smart, very kewl guy; they both are. Anyway, I was so impressed because they stayed until every single person had their moment with them. They signed everything, allowed as many pictures as people wanted, etc. I was very impressed - and it shows that, even with all their success, they still appreciate their fans.
I have to admit I appreciate the example they set for our community and our kids, and I love the way they represent atheists and freethinkers to the world.
I love his youtube show.
I really like Penn. He is quite funny and even more intelligent. But he doesn't like dogs and thinks that Micheal Vick has been punished "enough". I kind-of hate hime for that. All-in-all though, he is pretty high in my favorite people list. At-least in my top 20.
I greatly admire his clarity of thought and courage.
And as a corollary to Penn's statement, "There are ONLY atheists in foxholes".
If god did by even the remotely chance existed (not saying he does or does not) then he/she/it self is an Atheist THOU SHALE NOT HAVE ANDY GOD BEFORE ME...kind of addmitting to the existence of other gods and being a bit anti goddish
