As I tried to state earlier, it's not actual guilt, thats just the word that prejudiced asswipes like Rush Limbaugh and his far right friends use to try to make people feel guilty for applying the delicate touch that is needed between these two subcultures of humanity. It's no one person's fault, it's "White People's" fault. It doesn't matter if you speak with a Russian accent and have only been an American for five minutes, if you have white skin, it's an unwritten social rule that you have to be delicate about matters of race and skin color. This is a group effort, whether you want it to be or not, because human beings are dicks in general, but white people stick out like a sore thumb when it comes to atrocity.

That sounds like an expanded, ethnically based version of sons bearing the burden of their father's sins unto the nth generation.  It makes no sense in the bible, and it is equally as senseless in this context.

I tend to agree with this with regard to the last few centuries when Europeans gained an edge in technology that they used for aggressive colonialism.  However, humans have been butchering each other as long as they've existed.  Every ethnic group has skeletons of savagery hidden in their collective closets.

My great grandfather lived in Hamburg Germany during WWII, and he was Jewish, at least by familial ties. I have his extremely curly hair and uncoordinated grace to prove it. :p

The following would have been equally valid...

1- "My grandfather was Buddhist, and I have a short dick and can't drive a car very well to prove it."

2- "My grandfather was Muslim, and I make my wife dress like Casper the ghost to prove it."

3- "My grandfather paid respects to Shango, and I kick ass at basketball and never shut up in a movie theater to prove it.

etc. etc.

I do love the Social Justice Warrior Wanker tendency to spout racial stereotype BS out one side of their mouths while preaching how others should behave with sensitivity out the other side... always good for a chuckle.

It's not an explaination, it's an observation. If a white person walks up to a black person that they do not know intimately, and says, "What up, my nigga!" Then that white person is likely, to the point of certainty, to be met with extreme hostility, sometimes even violence. I'm not saying it should be like that, I'm merely observing that it is like that.

While I do tend to stand up against any injustice which I perceive, I wont defend myself on your point. I'll make any joke I like, but I will qualify that I wont do so in bad taste. Stereotypes, while common enough to be observed, are hardly the rule. Some of them are funny, some of them are not. I'll laugh my ass off when Chris Rock or Alonso Boden make jokes about white people, and I'll laugh just as hard when they make jokes about black people. I'll continue to laugh when white people take the stage to make the exact same types of jokes. But I'll react with horror and anger when some redneck asshole comes up and starts telling nigger jokes to me in the supermarket (*personal experience). If this makes me a hypocrite in your eyes, then that's your problem, not mine.

It's one thing to claim that white people as a whole have a responsibility to act in a certain way due to white history being rife with atrocities, and 'observing' that some chuckle head can end up with a problem if he gives somebody disrespect.  The first claim I've addressed; the second claim doesn't need the race specifics... it's pretty much standard regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, etc etc.

As a side note, I saw your exact example above occur when I was in the bar business.  A rather intoxicated, whiter than white individual walked up to a coworker of mine and threw out the "What's up, my nigga" line.  It was the white people nearby that reacted with offense and indignity.  My coworker and his friend simply shook their heads in amusement, made an offhand remark about the guy being a bit clueless, and did a shot with the guy since he was buying.

Limbaugh's still spouting off about "Barack Hussein Obama". How many people even know John McCain's or Mitt Romney's middle name? Yeah, you bet I assume he likes to rile up racists as part of his schtick. Fucking schmuck! And of course it's a popular with his listeners.

Yeah! And let's fuck voting rights while we're feeling like victims!

I haven't seen anyone from TA wanting to mess with voting rights, have you, Pope Beanbag?

@Unseen, you think my comment was about TAers, or am I just "not getting" something again? What are you trying to say? I don't get it. What I'm saying (which seems irrelevant to you) is that racism still exists, and I'm still seeing white's feeling sorry for themselves for being accused of not supporting voting right equality. It's always the "they're gonna steal votes if we don't watchem!" victim play.

Limbaugh is a perfect example of H3xx's redneck asshole type mentioned above.  He's a rabble rousing ass-hat that caters to the white racist element of society to make a buck.  The only thing that I like about him is his consistency... he is consistently wrong about everything.  If you don't know what position to take on something, just find out his position and take the opposite.

Certain individuals and levels of government on up to the Federal level have done shameful thing, but as individuals and organizational entitities. I believe in holding those responsible responsible. I don't believe in looking at the responsible party and blaming their actions on their race. I think anyone who does so has a lot to learn about responsibility and guilt.

(slap on forehead) Racism still exists? OMG!

I don't think I've ever seen a white person "being accused of not supporting voting right equality." When did you see someone accused of that?
