This hits the nail squarely on the head. Brilliant!

I so agree with this. 20 hours in surgery an army of Dr's and nurses, millions of dollars of equipment and you open your ungrateful, superstitious eyes and praise god for your recovery...really? what a dick

I love this! I get so annoyed whenever I hear people praise god for anything good that happens, rather than give credit where it's actually due. Yet if something bad happens you never hear those same people say "you know, god, you can be such a bastard at times, I don't think I want to be your friend anymore"!

And all the nauseating stories of the people who just barely avoided being killed in 9/11.

Dear Folks:

I wonder how many times we are saved by total strangers, that just cared enough to save your ass, but did not stick around long enough to be thanked? This has happened to me a few times. The people I have told about this, have always suggested that these 'savers' were my guardian angels, instead of some fellow that just did not like the sight of blood. I have to thank the 'strangers' who ever you are!

I knew a guy who quit smoking.  A hard thing to do, and something I struggled with for years myself before finally doing it.  Anyway, when asked how he did it, he said "I couldn't have done it without god"

Now, in my mind, I find this very sad.  This man did something to improve his life, a challenge, and then gave all the credit away.  This man will never be free to feel good about his own achievements.
