This is very touching. I was touched by "love" in high school and losing my virginity to my first love almost caused me to go into a deep clinical depression because I thought I was a lost soul and "sinner". This ended up being the impetus for my retreat from Catholicism and adoption of "Reason", but at the same time, it's hard enough growing up as it is, you don't need some archaic belief system mixing your mind and emotions up more than they already are.
