I don't see why everyone's getting so angry, apart from me, and I was just annoyed.
Like Kairan says - this thread is a testament to how gay people are much more integrated in society than used to be the case. There have been no ignorant remarks about gay people, and that's a good thing. These days we have Graham Norton and Alan Carr Chatty Man (play on Batty-man) so let's crack open a Lambrini and kick back and have a laugh.
@Melvinotis - I agree with the first half of your post, and not the second.
Forget the glbt teens. At least SOME of them are out of the closet. We haven't even begun to hear from the bdsm teens.
@ Unseen, glbt & bdsm?
Sometimes it's glbt and sometimes it's lgbt. Anyway the letters refer to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transsexual. As for bdsm, it's bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism.
I am so stuffed on popcorn from this thread.
But I tell you what - there is a heck of a lot of reverse racism going on in here.
WTF! Are you BLACK? Who knew!
I'm wondering who is going to have the last word in this.
I've seen this kind of presentation given to professional groups by high school Straight Gay Alliance organizations. It goes with a powerful narrative given by the students of 30 second to 1 minute monologues followed by chants of solidarity and support.
I have gradually pieced together a hypothesis: English is a second language for Angela so she doesn't understand much of any of the idioms, any of the subtleties of phrasing, and that she is being incredibly insensitive (bordering on sociopathic). Why else would someone ignore the fact that the picture and thread was about gay youth and make posts that just crap all over someone else's problems?
@ Angela Evangelia
You ignored a fact I pointed out that while these students problems are serious, other LGBTQ people elsewhere in the world have it even worse. Or were you deliberately dismissing the criminalization of LGBTQ people as nothing worse than other people face? Tell me of anyone else who in today's world has been declared a criminal just for being who they are – not for something they've done.
@ Simon Paynton
"Ward - ... You mean 'annoyed', I mean 'ready to kill'."
Wrong. I understood what you meant and I was that angry. Just because I wasn't as inconsiderate as you and Angela doesn't mean I wasn't that angry. But I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, you have weighed in on the clueless side of this debate and you are making every effort to show you belong on that side.
