I will never understand why people; who do all these incredible things, give all the credit to god.  If I build a skyscraper, I'd be like look I just build a fucking skyscraper without my imaginary friend...bitches.

Being ex-Wiccan I get things like this on Face book........

I find Wicca at least as silly as Xianity but they tend to have a good sense of humor about it, almost as if they don't take it too seriously.

Wicca has the positive of not (yet) resorting to mass bullying tactics like you will find in many bible belt small towns.  On the other hand most Wiccans are converts; they don't have the excuse of having been raised in it.  (And almost all I have met are obviously rebelling from strict Xian upbringings.)

@steveinco probablly because wiccans do not believe seriously in those things. Wicca and so on are seen more as a cool fashion than as a real religion.

How seriously Wiccans see their religion tends to vary according to age and length of time in the 'religion'.  Older, long term types, take it very seriously; teens can take it seriously, or it can be a rebellion thing.  Those who see it as a 'cool fashion' thing are known to those who are more serious as "fluffy bunnies" and not considered 'true Wiccans'.  Most Wiccans believe that if it is your 'life path' to be a Wiccan, you will discover it for yourself - seeking converts is generally a really big NONO  (it would be interfering with the other person's free will- and that is just not done).

Wow I have a Belief Systems final coming up and I haven't studied at al!!! Do you think god helps on tests that are about him???
Comment by Brittany Mezzo on May 8, 2012 at 11:24pm

I've had plenty of tests where I managed to pass without being properly prepared. However, I just assumed this was thanks to process of elimination/educated guess/pulling things out of my ass, not God.

Kind of funny that God seems to want to help middle-class sheltered suburban kids pass their tests and football stars to score the winning touchdown, but not be bothered to hear the cries and pleas of (you GUESSED it!) starving African children.

To assume your God would take time out of tending to you out of everyone else for one little petty thing is selfish.

PRAISE JESUS AND THE LORD ALMIGHTY! HE EXISTS! HE EXISTS I SAY, AND MY PROOF IS THE FB STATUS OF A 16 YR OLD WHO LIKES CAPS LOCK!!! Let me get this straight.  God will help you get a B- in a subject but he neglects people who actually need help? By the time you have read this, about 1000 babies have died around the world.  What about the people who suffer through disasters? What about the people around Chernobyl? 1500 babies.  We live on a planet where people not only believe some invisible sky daddy created everything, but they also believe that he will help students on exams, baseball teams win games and politicians get into power. 2000 babies.  Congratulations world, you officially fucking suck.

@Mabel

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like to try and open people's minds, and keep them entertained.
