Comment by a spears on October 26, 2012 at 2:05am Simon I am not in any way upset. I was stating my view. I did state that I intended no offense. I don't think the AHA is saying he's coming to them for answers, but that's just my view. I look at their campaign as finding a common thread with others and building upon what our beliefs as far as human rights without regards to religion. We all live here together and no matter how we feel about it, we will have to find a common ground. I never stated I was spiritual; please don't judge me for stating my opinions. You don't know me, how can you say these things about me? I am very welcoming, and anything I say here is in effort to make others feel welcome to post their thoughts but not to be hostile. I intend no hostility, if that is coming across from me please understand I don't intend that. I get bored of the negativity that persists in some, not all, atheist circles. Once we step outside the religon delusion, what then....just make fun of it, forever? That is not furthering a goal of a secularly governed world, and it puts people off that may have something interesting to put into the discussion. Anyway, I don't want to argue back and forth over this non-issue. I appreciate your comment, but you have gotten the wrong impression of me entirely.
Unseen you bring up an idea I hadn't thought of before. Very interesting. You've given me a new way of thinking about what a soul, or spirit, is. I will have to mull that over for a bit, it's an excellent point.

Comment by Unseen on October 26, 2012 at 10:13am Let me add to what the others have said: Anyone with a thin skin is going to find participating here sheer torture. Opinions here are strong. Many people, myself included, like to play devil's advocate. We—most of us—believe that spirited discussion causes more good than harm.
Comment by Logicallunatic on October 29, 2012 at 10:42pm Mr Lama is not the wisest of them all. On a visit to Dublin, he suggested that the people of Ireland should forgive the bankers who were mostly responsible for the economic housing bubble and crippling recession. Sounds too much like twisted-religinut ethics to me.
