Seal outsmarts great white 2

A great white shark bursts out of the water with a seal balanced on its nose. The shark is a powerful ambush predator that attacks from below. The seal is lucky enough to avoid the initial attack, but agile enough to position itself away from the razor-sharp teeth and ride the shark to the surface. Once at the surface the seal hops off and is able to outrun the shark.

I love seals, but a shark's gotta eat something. Without sharks, the ecosystem of our oceans will collapse. Therefore, I love sharks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to worry. The Great White, with 400 million years of evolution on its side, wins most of the battles. By comparison, mammals seem like an evolutionary afterthought.

I root for the seals. Mind you, this is not shark-ism, it is my tendency to root for the underdog (underseal).

Great photos. It looks like the seal is probably leaving a little present for the shark to enjoy. Bon appetite Jaws!!
