Not for me!  I welcome the proselytizers to my front door and into my house, where I inundate them with science and reason.  They always leave deflated, especially after I've made them read II Kings, Chapter 2, Verses 23 & 24 aloud.

I listen to them amazed that I used to spout that bullshit.

While that may make me sound like an idiot and I can see why anyone might draw that conclusion, it's just that I was young and was throwing up the only thing I had. You learn what you're taught after all.

I think we should invite them in. If someone had a conversation with me I would have listened. It wouldn't have been hard to make me question my silly beliefs. I probably started to have trouble reconciling my faith (we wouldn't say "religion") with who I was in my middle teens. I started to question it in my early 20's. It took until I was 25 to shed it completely.  I am now acutely aware of the value of that time wasted lovin' Jesus. The number of hours spent studying that stupid book, trying to get so in tune with God that he would fix me is unfathomable. Hell, he can't even fix a flat. It was all my life up until 20. I went to church twice on Sunday and most Wednesday nights. I needed help. I was drowning in a sea of mythical bullshit.

We wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to rescue someone in such dire straits. That would be immoral.

Proselytisers? I welcome them, telling them that "We worship Satan in all his glory in this house," and add I'm just about to sacrifice a goat (sometimes, a small child) and would they like to join in?

That usually sends the buggers packing.

I WOULD put this on my door. It might give the Jehovas pause.
