Comment by Boci Boci Tarka on February 21, 2011 at 4:13pm Oh, blessed be thy false dichotomy!
I hate when short-sighted people try to treat this issue on an individual level. On a larger scale it is about the energy usage per capita, population expansion and the carrying capacity of the Earth. As Dawkins sad, birth control is unnatural, but so is consumer society.
For us to be sustainable, we need to control our birthrates, period. Infinite growh cannot be realized in a finite system. But, soldiers of god does not have a problem with people dying of hunger, war, disease, killing eachother for food, and also killing the planet in the process, etc, they are only concerned about unconcious bunches of cells, because god the almighty needs all the little soldiers he can muster to further his cause. Pro-Life, yay!
A big amen for him.

Comment by Bryan B on February 22, 2011 at 9:46am Notice who's carrying the "pro-life" sign? That should tell you something right there. I just love, love, love it when men get themselves all riled up about possibly pregnant women. They have so much experince with pregnancy that, of course, they should get to have their say. Besides, this is the USofA and women are expected to know their place - barefoot and pregnant, especially in our god fearing, child abusing, ignorant era.
Get real, these people aren't pro-life, they are pro-fetus, and don't give one shit about the life when and if it actually gets here.
Comment by Courtney on February 22, 2011 at 12:16pm I'm pro-choice because it should be up to women whether they want children, how many they want, WHEN they want to have a child, etc.
I doubt I'll ever have an abortion because I'm a lesbian. If I'm raped and became pregnant as a result, I'd have an abortion ASAP and at that early in gestation, it would just be a simple little pill; in other words a medically-induced miscarriage.
A lot of the people who are against abortion are also against subsidizing birth control, having health insurers cover birth control, against teaching teenagers about contraception, against WIC, etc. BUT they are all about the fetus. Of course after a child is brought into this world, the caring pretty much stops. I call them pro-birth.
