This beautifully illustrates the fact that Christians, by and large, are not only ignorant; they OWN their ignorance.  Their basic argument against science is that they are ignorant of it, and they are PROUD of it.  As my friend, Tarvin said, when he struggled unsuccessfully to come up with a single scientific basis for his Baptist dogma, simply ended the argument with "I have faith!"
