I guess. If you also want to believe that the world is flat and the sun revolves around the Earth. It says it in the Bible so if you believe that a 2000 year old cosmic zombie, carpenter will save you from sins he forced upon you, then believing the world is flat isn't much of a stretch.

What does a sea turtle have to do with supporting the universe? Maybe this is an 'answer' offered to a very young child, from their grandfather, who has just pulled in his nets and found a sea turtle? The kid does not yet have any idea what is going on, and probably will not for their whole life. Grandfather about the same. So why worry about the 'truth'? The kid is rather happy with a nice image, and grandfather is off the hook. Then comes 'the modern world' and we muck it up with details, big numbers, and the truth. Sadly I have been the young kid. I saw the crappy answer as a chalenge. I do love sea turtles!
