"Because the tree disobeyed him." That just made me chuckle real good.
Trees are very good at following orders when they want to. In fact they follow them perfectly when it so happens the order is what the bugger would have done anyway (which is basically to sit there and grow slowly).
When it's bearing fruit out of season, though, you are SOL.
Of course, Jesus was good at trying to order organisms to go against their own natures. In fact you could say that was all he was about.
I think Robert has sponge where his brain is supposed to be! How on earth could someone say a tree disobeyed someone and this should be withered.
SpongeBrain should be appropriate
I looked it up, by damn it seems to be there in my KJ's copy!
Makes you wonder if passages like this are indications of a mental disability, something extream narcisism. Given how the rest of the book reads, this might be likely.
Maybe the tree didn't understand the language he was speaking.
I'm more concerned this guy is denying the existence of all mighty Arceus that i have in my pokeball.
It is really too bad that the tree was busy. If it had actually felt hurt, a simple limb sheading might have eliminated a great deal of world history. Sadly the Romans might still be in power, but with nuclear weapons and much better togas. Oh, just maybe that could be wrong, did the 'Romans' actually die out/leave?
So the tree didn't give a fig, hey? That's kind of funny...
And if Jesus said "may no-one eat your fruit again" how come the Christians still eat figs?
