Just an interesting fact. The reason for the bunny and eggs is because they are both symbols of spring.  "Easter" actually being an older pagan celebration (it wasn't called Easter) for the spring equinox, the point when the day time starts getting longer than the night time. The tradition of eggs have been around for centuries, but the rabbit was an American invention. For me, the rabbit and eggs symbolize that we are in fact a secular nation, they have more to do with spring and absolutely nothing to do with Jesus. I'm an atheist and I'm proud to celebrate "Easter".
