I'll be sure to add it to my list of "comebacks"...
I'm glad you see the redundancy of this statement. However, this argument you've made along side it, if I may, isn't the strongest counter-argument for this topic.
Remember, believing something to be true, based of the fact that it cannot be proven otherwise, is not a good foundation of believe, on either side.
Unfortunately, this statement having been made here is basically saying the same thing that the argument is stating, but from the other point of view.
I suggest reading from Dr. JP Moreland and Dr. Clancy Martin debate over the Existence of the Christian God, and see what I'm talking about.
This is also known as special pleading.
"Something can't just come from nothing, er, except God" -- this argument pleads that God is a special case. If God can come from nothing, so can the universe. If God can have always existed, the universe can have as well.
soo where did God come from mr. christian smarty pants?
Ray Comfort's a dick.
I have used this argument before, and sadly, Jeff is right: Christian's will wield religion to their side and state that God is almighty and can do anything. Even if it means God can create the universe and the Earth and plants and water and land and animals from absolutely nothing. They don't want to think over the fact of physics (which I don't really know, just going by what I've heard) which is that anything must be made of something. Because that will unravel everything they've wrapped their life around...
Don't argue with stupid. You will never win...
