@Jean, I know, I see that I'm being a kill joy to all these people. But I am absolutely dumbfounded at how many people who think this is clever. I skimmed through all the comments and the only other person who actually saw the stupidity in this was a Christian. It really makes me sad how susceptible people are to confirmation bias. It's one of the biggest intellectual problems with religious people, and now I see it is just as strong in atheist. But, after all, were all human.

You would never hold someone to such high standards of memorization for any other form of text, whether it be law, science, or philosophy. Then why would you hold religious people to it. Absolutely ridiculous!!!

Dude-I know a lot of scientific type people, and I know a lot of artists who have technical knowhow, and I know many chefs, myself among them, who repeatedly turn to resources, usually written, to refresh their knowledge and make sure everything comes out OK.  Not so for religious types, who can spout whatever they want assuming that no one will check on it.  They do this, I might add, without humor, but with extreme intention.  OK.  Whoopee for them.  This makes them bonafide idiots.  Your lack of humor, your inability to take a joke, your obvious sincere interest in truth in rhetoric is certainly noble, but misinformed.  There is such a thing as satire.  It was invented with the earliest recorded language and it has been with us ever since.  Why so serious?  Why so glum?  Is god gonna get you?  Covering your ass?  Or maybe you just don't get the joke.  It's a JOKE.  Laugh. Then focus on something important. The only people I know more serious than you are god fearing and human hating.

Take a deep breath. And then another.  And then another.  IF there is someone else in ¥our house, tell them a knockknock joke, or something else seriously dumb.  Have a laugh.  Let it go.  It is actually OK to be human and have a laugh at someone elses expense.

Yes, but apply this joke to the artists and chefs with technical know how. Would it still work on them, even though they repeatedly turn to their resources. The answer is yes, if you wrote something that they would agree with that sounded like its from their books, then credit it to those books. They would thumbs it up because they didn't realize that it was made up. Of course they aren't going to realize its not from the books they like. Not unless they're an autistic savant who can memorize every sentence in a book.

Yes I agree that most Christians don't really read the bible. Its like a license agreement for them. Scroll to the end, and click agree. But this "joke" would not be able to distinguish between the Christians who never touched a bible, and those Christians who've read it at least a dozen times.

I see you guys keep pulling out the "stop being so serious" card. "Why do you care?, Just Relax". What the hell guys? I feel like I'm debating a bunch of Christians. Think Atheist!!!!

I guess it's just in my nature to point out stupidity when I see it. Isn't that the whole point of these picture galleries?

@Dude Awesome. So you would put past a bunch of radical evangelicals from doubting a facebook bible quote when all anyone ever has to do is look it up, or God forbid (pun intended) put it in a google search? Any curious five year old nowadays can copy and paste a quote into google's search bar to find the origin. I don't know what your problem is but this is not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. I am pretty easy-going and if my buddy on facebook led me into a trap just to point it out to me I wouldn't freak out half as bad as you are now. Relax and take some vicodin.
