Why do people interfere with other people's life's when it does no harm to others?
this is dumb ... to tired to shove it through a proxy....
Leonardo Da Vinci was left handed. In those days, writing was done with a quill and an inkwell, and being right handed allowed the ink to dry that your hand left behind on the paper, whereas a left-handed writer would be in the position of smudging the wet ink with his hand as it traversed the page. Most people did not read or write (outside the church) in those days, but Leonardo Da Vinci could and did write, annotating many of his designs with notes. To avoid the wet-ink smudging problem, he simply wrote from right to left, in 'mirror' handwriting.
I always found that fascinating.
Come to think of it I did have some problems with writing in some comp books and loose leaf binders, I had to sort of reach over the rings at the beginning of a line and not have my hand in a position to smudge what I wrote.
I wonder if Arabic writers have that problem in reverse since the language is written from right to left and they would normally write with their right hand.
Left-handers are sinister. I mean that seriously. That was the original meaning of the term "sinister." "Dexter" meant right-handed. An ambidextrous person has two right-hands.
For me both my grand mothers from my father's and mother's side were lefties, so when I was growing up I did not mind even the foolish teachers in my elementary school who scolded me for 'using the wrong hand'. I would tell them straight that they must ask either of my grannies why I am like them. Both my grannies were very good with their hands- very creative. I am a published author of 3 books in my indeginous IsiZulu Language. Take that all you anti lefties!!!
@ Strega. Amazing enough my granny, from my mother's side, wrote from write to left! What a beautiful hand writing she had. I still have to meet lefties who write like she did. She would place a book facing right and you wouldn't see what she was writing until she was done. I was always fascinated by my granny's "rare skill"
I find that the priest says that being left handed is "evil" but offers no proof of that assertion, but when the boy says that it's natural the priest refutes that by saying that he has no proof of that. Sounds like rather typical thinking among that crowd.
@ Unseen: If you remember seeing that Chinese toddler that was born (with other birth defects) with three arms. He would have been great as a electronic technician, techs need at least three hands to do some of the work that I do. But it would have been tough to get shirts to fit. I wonder what the third arm would be considered as?
@ Belle Rose
I took a picture of it, however it's only B/W
