Unseen,

Apparently it's not unheard of for some married woman's extra-marital lover to put on a burqua to visit her.  No one could know that it's not a woman visiting, it's literally great cover.

Great cover... you're terrible.

Yes, Nessrrinn uploaded that one a while ago. Where is she anyway?

She is over at CEMB, the Ex Muslim forum.

I can certainly see Korsan's point of view on this. Growing up in that environment and having family members who think that way is beyond ridiculous. To some of these women wearing a "t-shirt" with skin showing of the arms is nudity. A lot of you are Ex Christians and don't have that much contact with Islamic world, so its understandable with the confusion. When we in the West think of nudity we think of actual "nudity", completely bare or as some would like to call it  "birthday suit" hahaha. To many Islamic women, especially the hardcore indoctrinated ones, nudity means showing even a fraction of skin. These types of thinking are infallible and irrational. These type of behaviors of brainwashing for Muslims start at a young age. You will see 4 year old girls with a veil on. They don't know anything better other than what their parents have taught them. That type of behavior is child abuse. What if the child didn't want to wear the veil? The parents will MAKE her wear it because this is the "will of Allah" and that is how its supposed to be whether the kid likes or not. Then these children grow up to be women, just like that particular woman, and think that everyone else is wrong and evil, and she is right and "modest". The fact that she puts the hash tag "#Muslimah Pride" is just showing that she thinks she is better than girls who don't wear a veil.

These type of behaviors piss me off too. As I really don't think any woman needs to wear a veil cloth over their head to be "modest'. If a woman wore some flip flops, a t-shirt, and jeans, I would say she is dressed modestly. We humans are all beautiful. I don't think anyone of us, men or women, need to hide our beauty for any reason. If we needed too, then evolution would have done that for us long time ago.

What is "modest" varies from culture to culture and really gets into one's head. Even open-minded and otherwise feminist women in Western cultures do not generally walk around in total violation of what our culture thinks is modest and decent.

I'm with Belle and Simon. Any woman getting called a 'cunt', especially one who is (possibly) trapped in a repressive sexist system so deeply that she can't even tell it's hurting her, is quite troubling.

"Cunt" is gender neutral. That's the beauty of it.

Comment by Unseen on April 6, 2013 at 5:49pm

In what language is that, k0rsan? It refers to the vagina.

Comment by kOrsan on April 6, 2013 at 5:52pm

I meant the usage of it as an insult. You've never heard a man being called a cunt? I can demonstrate if you like.

Angela, it's not as much about sexuality as it is about power. Destroying something pure.
