A similar site, Eternal Earthbound Pets, run by an atheist made the rounds the last time the world ended. I heard a few radio interviews then where the guy joked about the whole thing.

After the Rapture is run by a xian, which makes the whole thing more sad than funny.

A brain scan of the frontal lobe of a typical believer?

I'd like to start a site offering to take the life savings of anyone who proves wrong about the 2012 Mayan calendar thing. The money would be used to buy me a Bugatti, a huge yacht, and a lifetime supply of pita and hummus. Anything leftover would be donated to help reduce the deficit.

If they really believe the world will end this month, they should be able to put their money where their mouth is.

If the Rapture involves a 2000 year old legend coming to earth and sweeping off with all the Christians, I say bring it on!  Is Allah going to gather up the Muslims too?  Will Ganesha come and grab the Hindus?  This is sounding more and more appealing!  All that room, all the technology, most of the scientists and doctors?  Wow bring it on!  And the American politicians?  Now I see what heaven on earth could look like - zippedy do dah, zippedy day, My oh my what a wonderful day!

Actually, Arch, it looks as if the majority of Americans will be climbing aboard the Jesus flying carpet, whereas most of us Brits will still be around.  One of our first tasks will be to reintroduce the correct spelling of our language; I have it on good authority that there is a factory in the midlands that has started to produce all those extra 'u' letters you'll be needing....

That weird accent?  Which one?  We have a huge number of quite separate and individual accents - so much so, that despite the size of our country, many of us cannot understand the others accents at all.

It's the Aussie accent that has me switching subtitles on.

Laughs, fabulous!  So many Americans seem to get the Aussie and Brit accents confused, and yet to us, they are worlds apart!  I'm delighted you're not one of them :)
