We are all products of evolution. No reason to divide us on those lines...

A clever leadin to some nice satire, Kirk. I wish I had a sense of humor, but my ancestors were Germans. In 1914 somebody told a German joke. In 1937 somebody told another one.

When Germany won the European Soccer cup, I sent a short note of congratulations to a German friend. He replied, "Thank you, I am in a bar and the crowd has gone crazy. Biggest success for us since we were Pope".

German humor is alive and kicking!

Tom! I love that joke. That is a deep cut...

Andrew, how does that 'divide' us?

Product of Evolution vs Product of Intelligent Design. I read the sentiment as dogs are not part of the natural path. I find it funny how we separate ourselves from nature. Evolution is regardless of what guides it because it guides itself with all of the tools built up by life to make life happen again.

We are natural. Evolution is natural. Wolves are natural. Dogs are natural. Everything is natural.

That is what I meant, but I was trying to be more succinct. Thanks for asking!

There is a valid, scientifically understood difference between natural selection and artificial selection. The words natural and artificial can have loaded meaning, e.g. natural implies good and artificial implies fake. But I don't know of better phrases that can succinctly illustrate the difference between these two types of evolution. Cultural evolution is yet a third type, and then there are more types. Even the word "breeding" can have loaded meaning.

I like that you are interested in how we humans can learn to communicate more accurately and meaningfully. Various trajectories and intersections of human culture make us increasingly empathetic or uncomfortable with each other, as we globalize.
