Remind me to Thank them ;)
One of my favorite quotes. Gotta love House!!!
And you are better off without those so called "friends". At least, you know who your true friends are. =)
You should post more so eventually you will be left with your friends and not 'friends'
I with Miss Gina on this one. But I would like to offer up the following as an indication of the difference between "friends" and "true friends".
"Friends" bail you out of jail.
"True friends" are in the cell with you, going "Man, that was fun!!"
Stay safe, all.
In the particular context it ought to target "fundamentalist religious people"...Not all are impossible to reason with.
Don't place atheists in the same boat as the fundamentalists.
Lisa - since I, to the best of my knowledge, was the first to post that on the board, I should probably say that I'm sorry you lost "friends," but the truth is, that REAL friends, are those who, even if reluctantly, always raise their hands, should you ask, "Who wants to help me move?"
Friends help you move.
Really good friends help you move bodies.
Friends help you make memories, unfriends blame you for the memories latter...
@Steve - I'm not sure you and I move in the same circles --
I personally don't use Facebook but have family and friends that do. Losing and gaining friends on the social site seems to be constant thing. It would make one wonder what basis you have developed your friendships upon. Evidently people come apart at the seams when confronted with honesty. How strange is that?
"What is a friend? I will tell you. It is a person with whom you dare to be yourself. Your soul can be naked with him. He seems to ask of you to put on nothing, only to be what you are. He does not want you to be better or worse. When you are with him, you feel as a prisoner feels who has been declared innocent. You do not have to be on your guard. You can say what you think, so long as it is genuinely you. He understands those contradictions in your nature that lead others to misjudge you. With him you breathe freely. You can avow your little vanities and envies and hates and vicious sparks, your meannesses and absurdities and, in opening them up to him, they are lost, dissolved on the white ocean of his loyalty. He understands. You do not have to be careful. You can abuse him, neglect him, tolerate him. Best of all, you can keep still with him. It makes no matter. He likes you. He is like fire that purges to the bone. He understands. You can weep with him, sin with him, laugh with him, pray with him. Through it all - and underneath - he sees, knows and loves you.A friend? What is a friend?Just one, I repeat, with whom you dare to be yourself."-C. Raymond Beran
You're lucky. REAL Christians would have put on a full court press to show you the error of your ways!
