I got a laugh at this (the best "sight gag" representation of this particular point I've seen so far), and then I think for a second:  how would an Xian counterargue this?  Why would it not make instant sense to them?

It's possible many of them have a peculiar "blind spot" in that they are so bound up in "Jesus = Son of God" that they may not see that we are questioning that.  The substitution, one for the other, occurs so automatically they don't even realize the text says "Son of God."  So to them the cartoon looks like Jesus saying he is himself and Jerry claiming he is Jesus.  Now if it's read like that of course Jesus is sane (at least with regard to not thinking he is someone else) and Jerry isn't.

[If you don't think auto-text-substitution occurs in peoples heads sometimes, I once challenged an Xian to find the words "God," "Christian," "Jesus" or "Christ" in the US constitution, since he was busy claiming that the US was founded on "Christian Principles."  I even offered to go away and shut up if he found any of those words.  He triumphantly dug up "Lord," which shows up in "Year of our Lord" in Article VII and thought he'd won the point.]

Sadly I think I date myself, but years ago, there was a story in 'Psychology Today' about a reality theapy experience. Two men that believed that they were 'God' were forced into conversation. At the end of the experience, one man showed all signs of 'recovering', and the other was even more convinced! I wish I knew which issue this story was in.

Well, that makes sense, James, when you think about it - the man who became more convinced, actually WAS god, with a case of low self esteem, and he healed the other guy!

Now if they culd just get the other guy to be 'God' and do something useful, that would really be something!

Creating the Username, "this site sucks," clearly means you anticipated this site would suck at the time you created it, in which case, why did you join?

C ya! You will be missed --

I want to delete my account but this site doesn't let you.

Except that the site does give you that option at the bottom of your 'setting' page... Did you have a different username before? Because I feel like I've seen a different name attached to that avatar previously.

Although IT lists itself as female, I doubt that - also, this would appear to be it's only post, though it has made its personal page "private." Since one can view the site without joining, and need to join only for posting privileges, one must assume he it viewed the site, and joined, with that Username, only to make that one post. Who does that? Certainly no one worth losing any sleep over.
