Having lived in the UK for many years, now that I live in the states I still find it amusing how you Americans equate fag and faggot with homosexuality. In England, a fag is simply a cigarette, and faggots are a food dish made of offcuts of meat (pork, mainly) and offval. Even now, I'll say fag in a sentence, and my wife will poke me in the ribs.
