Wait, what is... going on with his face here? It's nightmare-inducing.

Sadly, I feel an agreement with this qoute. There are now many groups where this has become a mantra. We might not ever see the war of 'all against all', but it might express itself in many ways, and multiple contexts.

While I am not a 'true believer' in the power of love, we might discover that it might be the only way to save ourselves from madness. As we pass through all our options for relating, will love remain an option to cool the passions, and to prevent that final moment of madness at the brink?

It's a good quote, almost as good as his other: "faith means not wanting to know what is true".

@James, I think the same but i have yet to find the book where it says it to know the context (I'm reading his books instead of google it). As far as i have read, this quote may be referring to two things, either the german politics in his time (mildly likely) or christianity (Much more likely).

I wonder how this could relate to 'what does not kill you makes you stronger'?

"Here’s more middlebrow bullshit philosophy. “That which does not kill me makes me stronger.” I’ve got something more realistic: “That which does not kill me may sever my spinal cord, crush my rib cage, cave in my skull and leave me helpless and paralyzed, soaking in a puddle of my own waste.” Put that in your T-shirt, touchy feely New Age asshole!" --  George Carlin
