There was something I read once which talked about how the Vampire of legend was supposed to be the antithesis of Jesus. Where one willingly gave you his body and blood before he died, the other coerced you into giving up your blood after he was dead... Where Jesus is associated with light and all that is pure and good, Vampires were associated with darkness and all that was evil...Where Jesus would have no issue with 'looking at himself in the mirror" everyday.. The Vampire shied away from mirrors as it showed that he was so full of sin there was nothing good to view in the mirror (ie, no reflection) .. Where Jesus was killed via crucifixion on wood, vampires could be killed via a wooden stake through the heart...  In relation to the fictional Dracula, the title Count was supposed to infer money, wealth and power.. where Jesus represented and spoke for the poor, needy and powerless... ... In the end, one is just as fictional as the other..
