Does anyone else immediately GAIN respect for someone or something of the sort if they have one of these on their car?

Yes.  Well maybe not respect but I feel like there is someone I could actually talk to in that car.

My daughter and I have immediate negative reactions to what we call the "Jesus Fish People".  They just seem to be the worst drivers on the road.

I know my brain is selecting qualities based on my prejudices but I still enjoy calling them "Jesus Fish"

Guilty. I do feel a sort if instant connection and respect... But I would probably pass out at the wheel if I ever saw:

@Cathleen The greatest irony of these 'Jesus fish' people is that they are actually displaying a pagan symbol that predates Christianity (surprise, surprise). Especially when they are displaying the empty version with no text.

@Thew I've actually seen a car or two on my daily commute semi regularly, with the FSM badge on their car. I've never even heard of the 'laser shark' version before. lol

I'm partial to the "sushi fish" emblem.

It makes me happy, but no respect is something to be earned on a more personal level..

I have been reading that people that have these types of emblems on their cars often find them removed. i.e. - Stolen

I definitely give the person a mental nod of approval. Then I write "clean me" in the dirt on their windshield.

meh.  that's great an all, but the humility combined with confidence pertaining to your beliefs makes u much more respectable in my book.  It's kind of like trolling...in RL.  ish...
