Comment by Dale Headley on October 1, 2012 at 1:58pm This is the Christians' dilemma. If they actually take their preposterous book seriously, they are forced to admit that it's a litany of shameful horrors. And, as the illustration clearly shows, if they ignore the despicable parts, there would be hardly more than a pamphlet left. But at least the Book of Genesis would be worth some laughs.
Comment by Diane on October 1, 2012 at 8:11pm Revelations is a hoot too, especially when read aloud by an irreverent Yorkshireman. I laughed until I cried. This was after having tried to read it seriously. I have to say it was much more palatable as comedic material.
I know that I am ignorant of much of the symbolism in the Bible, and that somebody, somewhere was actually trying to say something in it, but taken at face value it is absurd at best and destructive at worst.

Comment by James Cox on October 2, 2012 at 12:54am The last time I messed with the thing was about 2000. I down loaded each book from a website, and wrote a little program to look for male and female pronouns. Just a small extra-credit paper fot a Feminist Theory class..;p)
You could do the same thing. Just make sure the files are in simple ASCI text format. You could look for all kinds of stuff then. Just an idea...
