Unfortunately the high of "feeling good" about one's religion clouds the ability to ask the hard questions and be willing to accept the answers. It reminds of the experiment where a tasty treat was placed inside a box with a hole just big enough for the monkey to gain entry with his hand and secure the treat. The problem was that the hand could not be removed from the box while still grasping said treat. The monkey would refuse to drop the treat even as a perceived risk was presented. So goes it with the theists and their appetite for that goody called religion.
