someone on reddit pointed out that "him/his/he" should be added to this clarification. In the 2nd draft I'll say that these personal pronouns should only be capitalized when beginning a sentence.
Well.. unless you're in a B&D chat room where it's acceptable to use H/he S/she ... lol
I agree, the pronouns should not be treated specially just because they refer to a god or God.
I tend to follow the rule stated in the photo, except when I am here, when I almost never capitalize it.
There's an easier way, fuck being polite and just write it small. I always knew these rules but I do it out of spite.
Your god, namely god, can suck it.
By the way, the H/he S/she stuff is bullshit and only used by theists. Screw that too.
I capitalize God when referring to the fictitious being by name. I don't feel a need to lower-case Mickey Mouse, either. In our language, it's a substitute for Yahweh or Jehovah and thus should be capitalized. It's a convention. I capitalize Satan as well.
The purpose of language is to communicate and language really is little more than a set of conventions we learn in order to understand each other. What's the point of screwing with the conventions? Or should I say "Wtsh'a wercsngi tiwh vsncentionv eht piont fo?"
I prefer doG.
"OMG!", said Grandpa to my English gramma.
It's just the way the language is, I follow it more to keep with the grammar rules than anything else!
I'm over half way through a TESL/TEFL (Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language) course, so I vote for the grammatically correct . . . which I always strive for anyway.
