You know, as an Atheist, I understand that we need to put our best foot forward and give no one an excuse to call us monsters, but every time these people open their collective mouths I want to lock them inside their church and firebomb the place from a distance. It's inhuman, it's monstrous, but these people fill me with so much anger and hatred that I can't fucking help myself. -_-

I wouldn't say it's inhuman to feel that way.  In this case, those feelings are just a testamant to the fact that you care about something deeply.  It's not until we act on those feelings without thinking that we become monsters.

When it comes down to the WBC, at the end of the day I can ignore all of their views and slogans; what I can't overlook is the way they pour salt in the wounds of the bereaved.  It is unquestionably abusive and cruel.

On a side note, God wasn't that much kinder to many of those who set the IEDs in the first place.  Kinda makes you think twice about doing his dirty work for him.

My Dad is a member of the Patriot Guard. Basically they're bikers who attend funerals, show their respect, and cordon off the funerals with their bikes, keeping WBC loonies  from getting too close. It's one of the few things he and I actually agree on. NO ONE should have to hear this bullshit when they are mourning the ones that they love.

When it comes to the WBC, I wonder if Turrets Synd. can be learned. ;p(

There are a few videos dealing with the WBC, that are real eye openers. Worth a look see.

Just wish they could be loving theists. It could make their 'message' more passable. Sadly, I feel my own rage swell up thinking about their attics. Sadly it is possible that someone more crazy then them will return the same message back.

Maybe a member will have a vision of the loving 'christ' and reform the group from the inside. Delusion can sometimes be the best thing..;p(.

A bit more here for those that don't know much of WBC.

WBC is a money-making scam. They are mostly lawyers who travel the country setting up their website and telling you when and where they will be, spewing the most insulting garbage imaginable, just to get you to snap for a profit.

I can feel my mind imploding when I read "To deny us our First Amendment rights is to declare to the worldthat Spc. Wyatt died in vain, and that America is a nation of sodomite hypocrites."

So let me get this straight, you are going to protest a funeral of a man who gave his life so that you can hold a protest at his funeral (and you acknowledge this)...because they hate the way this country is free to do so...  MY BRAIN IS FULL OF FUCK!!

@Shay: That's great to hear!  It's always good to know that more and more people are standing up to their bullshit.

I believe that it's okay to knock someone in the mouth when they truly push and push to deserve it.  WBC deserves it more than anyone.  They push our buttons expecting the law to protect them, and it does.  But only because we allow it to.  I think that is all the "best foot forward" they deserve.

The Westboroers are a clown show. I mean, if you appreciate the humor of Andy Kaufman they are. Andy knew exactly how to push our buttons and I'm so glad he's gone. I got tired of his bullshit after a while. But if you are a fan of Andy, what the hell!, you've got the Westboro Baptist Church.

I do see a silver lining in Westboro's rantings.  They derive their lunacy from the same document cherished by the rest of Christiandom.  They are shining a light on the hate within the bible, but they're doing it from within the movement.
