Except where he says "IF we're going to START banning violent works of fiction..." As distasteful as this may be, society has been banning books based on disagreeable content since before the invention of the printing press, and it is still going on today. The repressive but vocal minority has, like a lion watching the herd, simply turned its focus toward the two weakest groups that have an effect on what we read: school districts and public libraries. I'm not ALWAYS a fan of the ACLU, but when I am, it's usually when they're trying to prevent book bans. (And like the weakest gazelle, they don't always win.)
Just do a google search for "book banning news" and you'll see what I mean.
.....still not forgiven for "Hot to Trot (1988)".
