kOrsan - doubtless she could do it, but she's away for several days on business, maybe when she gets back.

Jorita - I was able to leave this - "Two hands working are worth a thousand clasped in prayer." - under the name, "R. K. Opteryx" --

Wha ha ha ha good for you this is so damn sad it is funny. If god is so great do they realy need a website to post their prayers it is no different to getting a bloody star chart done. I wonder how long before they charge a fee for praying for people on a scale of how big the prayer is .

Folks - Your irreverence is really quite touching. Thanks very much :-). I have a soft spot for blasphemy and blasphemers. I have had numerous “debates” with Catholics as to whether it is just cheap plonk or god’s blood (him being spirit and all that) that they consume.  Many don’t actually know what the Church says on the matter. I like to teach them about “Transubstantiation” when I can as it freaks them out. Sometimes it is called the “Real Presence” and Catholics are all for keeping it real.

The "Real Presence" is the term referring to Christ's actual presence in the elements of the bread and the wine that have been transubstantiated.

Transubstantiation is the teaching that during the Mass, at the consecration in the Lord's Supper (Communion), the elements of the Eucharist, bread and wine, are transformed into the actual body and blood of Jesus and that they are no longer bread and wine, but only retain their appearance of bread and wine. Paragraph 1376 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) states,

The Council of Trent summarizes the Catholic faith by declaring: "Because Christ our Redeemer said that it was truly his body that he was offering under the species of bread, it has always been the conviction of the Church of God, and this holy Council now declares again, that by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood. This change the holy Catholic Church has fittingly and properly called transubstantiation (CCC, 1376). Source – some apologetics website.

Because they are the presence of Christ himself, Catholics worship and adore these elements. You must believe this if you are a Catholic. Not believing it while still maintaining to have “a personal relationship with Jesus” does not count. Not accepting the bread is flesh makes them “half baked” Catholics.  I shall stop now as I feel a “pun-a-thon” coming on.

@ Korsan - Challenge accepted.

Picture challenge for Strega: A dragon riding a bathtub across a rainbow, farting bombs onto an orphanage of goblins. Do it.

(Reg, sorry if I'm de-railing the thread)

Nice one Strega - you deserve a medal for that. I think my picture derailed the post all by itself, lol.

(getting back on topic.. heh)

When I see something like this my first thoughts go to cannibalism.. It's interesting how it's frowned upon, except when it comes to religion.
