I first heard of him while I was apart of the Pentacostal church. A group of people were discussing The God Delusion with the pastor, ripping Dawkins to shreds verbally (or trying to). Instead of deciding to hate him needlessly, I picked up the book and read it. So glad I did.

...Honestly? I still find him to be a bit of a jerk. He's intelligent and well meaning, but I find him far to rude and harsh. Just my opinion though, so it doesn't really matter.
