It was during Dark Reign. I think it was The List: Wolverine. Basic premise was, there was a "living religion" virus going around that turned people into mindless savages, but it only worked on people who believed in god. Brilliant.

This is unbelievable! I've never seen anything this awesome. What heroes are these?

The characters are Fantomex and Noh-Varr. I can't fit how fantastic they are into a few sentences. Noh-Varr's first day on Earth, he burned a giant swear word into New York City and proceeded to rage-stomp across the planet until the Avengers stopped him. Fantomex... whollllle nother level.

As for LGBT characters, gay rights and feminism have blown up exponentially in the industry recently (complete with their eye roll-inducing controversies) so I could name a few but Kate Kane, the new Batwoman, is I'd say the undeniable resounding success. Whimsicality guaranteed. You even kind of look like her. She's probably your spirit animal.
