Read a bit of www.hatewatch.org and ever since Obama was elected, hundreds more hate groups have sprung up in the USA. They think he's the "antichrist' and so on. That doesn't sound civilized to me. It's all over, not just in the south. Many are right wing Tea Party Republicans per what I read. It'd be the extreme ones though, since there's still some republicans shaking their heads at what goes on. There are still hate crimes happening and not just in the south. Take New York for example. Hate crimes still go on in the South including by the authorities. I subscribed to the FBI newsletter a while back and they're always busting cops in the south for this and that, and that Hatewatch Group, which redirects to Southern Poverty Law Center, works with the Feds to gather intel on and point out wrongdoings. For example, in Mississippi the very judicial system there is turning schools into a sort of puppy mill for the jails. Many kids end up in jail/prison due to inequality and racism. Go ahead and check out their articles. You don't have to read all of them to get a rough idea that things are pretty bad in some ways still, in the South. Some things never change. So far. Also, google white power and lone wolves. McVeigh was a bit of a lone wolf and there's others with similar beliefs. Then there's militias and other white nationalists too. There's a lot going on that the mainstream news doesn't bother reporting or reports enough. Another thing to remember is that not all hate crimes are reported or known. Life's not that perfect. Oh yeah, the FBI and other agencies have stopped a lot of assassination plans that were aimed at Obama. This isn't civilization as we've been taught it was.
Yes, but atheism is a choice, like being gay, is it not? LOL
